Meet the Maker - Sarah Jane Handmade Ceramics
From her pottery studio in Wiltshire, Sarah Jane produces stunning handmade ceramics that make the perfect addition to any home. We spoke with Sarah to discover the inspiration behind her selection of homewares and seasonal decorations available to purchase from us online and in-store.
Tell us a little bit about the pieces you have created for us.
Being asked to become one of your suppliers was very exciting and I’m delighted that the pieces you’ve chosen sell so well, I struggle to keep up! Each item is individually thrown on the wheel from a speckled stoneware clay and finished with a neutral or a deep green glaze, which is exclusive to the Farm Shop. I have worked on a range of Christmas pudding bowls for the Christmas hampers, sweet decorations and candles.
What led you to become a ceramicist?
I have always enjoyed many forms of art and once I tried working with clay, I was hooked, so my career started from there.
What advice do you wish someone had given you when you started making pottery?
Practice, practice, practice, and practice some more! 
What inspires you to create your pieces?
I always seek to ensure my designs are attractive and unique, but most important of all, it’s essential that each piece is functional and a necessity in the home.
